Tl dr there are no heuristics or actual "sorting" going on by the program, just putting things in different boxes based on prewritten instructions by the mod id/name. and there are plenty of conflicts out there that don't get caught because nobody's reported/submitted them to the database yet. there is no conflict checking, and all the rules are HANDMADE by COMMUNITY SUBMISSION so any flaws that show up will remain until the database is updated manually with rules to fix them. ![]() rearrange some SPECIFIC mods based on SPECIFIC-MOD RULES, community sourced and listed in the "mod manager database" like "x mod goes below y mod", or "load me in the top-priority-group", or "load me in the bottom-priority-group". sort mods according to individual mods About.xml dependencies and optionals (same as ingame magic wand would do)ģ. Rimpy's mod sorting is STUPID and intentionally so.Ģ. Other lists can be shuffled like a playlist, and as long as core, and core mods remain first it remains fine. Most mod lists are positioned just right, and moving a single mod will nuke compatibility for a dozen+ mods. SoS is particularly nice, and so is wall lights. Stuff like Dubs Hygiene I don't like, but I like the heating portion, and most of rimefeller. Too many mods that change core just doesn't feel right. I have less than 40 mods active I prefer a lite, rimworld experience. UI-mod, or a mod that changes how rimworld handles mods certain types of mods may fix it. I don't think rimworld was designed for more than a couple dozen add-on type mods at a time. When 50+ mods begin adding onto a list, it begins to cause problems. So when others interact with it compounds the problem. Some mods just don't interact well with core/DLCs however. Less than 50 mods, and you shouldn't see many errors. If you go with anything more than a couple popular mods I would recommend using RimPy first for initial sorting so the game starts at least without crashing and afterwards using the mod-sort function ingame while using 'Mod Manager' and 'ModSync' - their database seems to be more reliable and it presents possible issues in a better way than RimPy.įor sure, RimPy seems to work well with simple mods, and mods that don't conflict too much. It doesn't have to be 'activated' though - it's enough to have the mod listed in 'inactive' for it to work.Ģ) You don't have to use the Steam Workshop - you can of course look for some non-WS version - or - can use something like to download the file without having to use Steam.ģ) When it comes to reliability of RimPy's database. It's used like any other mod and has to be put into your mod-folder. r/RimWorldStreams - For all of your videos and streams needsġ) For RimPy to actually sort by it's known logic, you have to also use the 'database' for it. ![]() r/RimWorldTales - /u/srgrafo's Rimworld Comic Series r/RimworldSwap - Swap saves with other players r/ShitRimworldSays - /r/nocontext posts about /r/RimWorld r/RimworldArt - Posts about Rimworld Artwork (not fanart!) r/Rimreddit - Colonists playing only on a single planet r/RimWorldPorn - High Quality Images of Rimworld Colonies No discussing pirated versions of the game.
